Joachim Granit

Artist

Joachim Granit is a Swedish artist whose work moves between painting, moving images, and sound. His artistic practice explores relationships between images, narratives, memory, and contemporary society, often crossing boundaries between different forms of expression.

Educated at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, he has exhibited extensively in Sweden and internationally since the early 1980s. His work is represented in several public and private collections, including Moderna Museet in Stockholm.

Alongside his individual artistic practice, Joachim has developed a strong interest in the intersections between art, architecture, research, and society. He sees artistic processes not only as a means of expression but also as a way of exploring ideas, questioning established perspectives, and opening up new possibilities for dialogue.

Between 2008 and 2022, he was Creative and Artistic Director at Färgfabriken in Stockholm, where he initiated and developed numerous exhibitions and international projects across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Today, Joachim continues to develop artistic projects and collaborations that bring together different disciplines and perspectives. His work moves between independent artistic exploration and collective processes, with a particular interest in how art can engage with history, the present, and possible futures.
